Things to know about Spain...?

I'm going to Spain over the summer, and I'm staying by Barcelona on the border of France and Spain. I'm a teenage girl btw... So what do I need to know about the culture, and any good tips would be appreciated. Oh and what are teenagers like over there... Basically the same as Americans? Thanks :)
