How do atheists explain the fine-tuned universe?

Well I believe in a God but what makes you think that I have to repent for sins and turn to Jesus? There are thousands of religions and would rather not become a religious person. This is what I dont get about christians. How come a person cant just believe in a creator without some sort of religion attached to it?
